Flourishes

Hey Everyone,

I have always valued Flourishes and how they can really spruce up a design. So I have decided to give away some of my favorite Flourishes that I have created. These can really add texture to your design, perhaps as a background element or even as a way to grunge it up in the foreground. Enjoy!

Here ya go! I made some medieval war tools that can help make a design grungy, rocked out, or just plain old medieval. There are some more of these to come, and with the freebies that I have already released, you can easily piece together some pretty amazing things! Enjoy!

You never really know where you will find some good resources. I highly encourage all of you up-and-coming designers out there to scour the the garage sales, the used book stores and even the Goodwill! You will be truly amazed at what you will find. For instance, I found this book called, handbook of ornament by Franz Sales Meyer. The best part of this book was that right on the front really big is says, ” Attention: artists, designers, architects, craftsmen, students, librarians, researchers. Every illustration in this extensive archive may be used and reproduced WITHOUT PERMISSION & WITHOUT PAYMENT!” Seriously, this book is 50 years old and has nothing but plate and etchings in it. SO for those of you out there who can’t find this 50 year old book, I will give some scans out, starting today.  Enjoy!

So I have spent all day trying to get back on track after I had to do a complete OSX re-install so I had to work with Marianne here at WordPress to get back on and it was great dealing with her. So thanks to her I am back in action. Well, I promised a calendar today and because of my mishap with my laptop, I will not be doing that today, but I will give something else. I have threw together a quick skull for you guys to play with. It is a real basic starting point and I would be interested to see what you guys do with it. Enjoy!
